Creating art is exhilarating, whether it is drawing, painting, or sculpting. I paint in various mediums including oil, acrylic and watercolor, which is my first love.
Each brush stroke creates a mystery and a challenge, which I use to capture the whimsy and majesty of my subjects. I love the unpredictable nature of watercolor, how fluid it is, and the level of depth and feeling it conveys that allows me to catch the personality of each animal.
On my ranch, I got a chance to really study the way animals act and move, and I continue to use that to improve my art. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of reality with daring color choices. My goal in all my art is to share the wonder I see and my love of animals with the world. I continue to challenge myself through commissions and my own inspiration to find the best way to show others the beauty of the west as I see it.
